Anne AH GEE

View Artwork

Anne grew up in outback NSW in Broken Hill. She found the landscape parched, sun bleached and barren, a place she once described as devoid of colour.
While in her teens she moved to Adelaide to study fashion design and later found herself moving around the country living in many towns and cities throughout many states.
It was while in Noosa Anne was so moved by the colours around her she moved from pastels to acrylics and she began to chronicle the places she had lived in drenched in colour and viewed from her off centre perspective.
While beach scenes first dominated her portfolio, her latest collection sees her seduced by and giving equal billing to the brilliant orange hues of the desert where she first grew up.

Her work is individual and her style is unique and free from rules and restraints.
These are no ordinary landscapes, but rather a true picture of how Anne views each place including the memories each town conjures up through the use of colour.

Representing both tropical influences and busy urban environments with smatterings of political and social commentary Anne’s works represent a colourful window on the Australian culture.

Anne has exhibited in many individual and group exhibitions.
