Being the exclusive Australian Agent, David Hart Galleries offer an art valuation and appraisal service on all original artwork by David Hart and his father Pro Hart. David and Christine Hart have been valuing works of art for over 10 years and can verify all values based on a proven sales history for similar work sold through David Hart Galleries.
Written valuations are usually required for one of the following reasons:-
- Insurance purposes
- Superannuation Fund Portfolio that include artwork, require regular updated valuations
- Family divisions or bankruptcy often requires valuations
- You want to sell your work privately and require a current value of the work. A valuation from David Hart Galleries also gives the potential purchaser peace of mind knowing that not only is the artwork authentic, they are not being over charged for the artwork
The cost of a valuation is $150. If you have more than one work to value then each valuation (after the first one) will be charged at $75 each. If you purchased the artwork originally from David Hart Galleries then the cost of the valuation is reduced to $100 and $50 for each consecutive piece. If it's a David Hart artwork that was purchased from David Hart Galleries, then the valuation is complimentary (no charge).
The written valuation will include your provided photograph and come beautifully presented in a folder with a current artist biography.
When attaching the photographs please ensure that the 1st photo is taken front on, squarely (this will be included on your valuation). The 2nd photo is to be the same but include the frame. The 3rd photo is to be of the back of the artwork. Please ensure there are no flash marks or glare on the photographs.
RESALES
David Hart Galleries sell a range of investment artwork and are always on the lookout for resales of Pro Hart, Hugh Sawrey, Robert Dickerson, David Boyd and some other well-known investment artists. David Hart Galleries commission is 30% (excl. GST) or if you originally purchased it through David Hart Galleries, the commission is reduced to 25% (excl. GST). If you wish to submit your artwork for an appraisal for resale, please fill out the Art Valuation/Appraisal form and one of the friendly staff from David Hart Galleries will be in contact with you soon.
Please fill out the below information for either a written valuation or a request for an appraisal of an artwork for resale. Once submitted David Hart Galleries will contact you for payment if it's a written valuation required or will discuss the sale of your artwork if you would like to resell your artwork.
